About This Game

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Quebec and published by Ubisoft. Set in feudal Japan, it follows two playable characters with very different approaches to combat and exploration: Naoe, a shinobi who specializes in stealth, and Yasuke, a samurai who relies on powerful direct combat. The Nintendo Switch 2 version includes touchscreen controls for menus, map navigation, and hideout management.

Story

The story takes place during a turbulent period in feudal Japan. Naoe and Yasuke become connected to a wider conflict while pursuing their own goals. Their journeys take them through castles, villages, wilderness areas, and other locations across Japan, with the two characters offering different perspectives on the events unfolding around them.

Gameplay

The gameplay combines stealth, parkour, exploration, and melee combat. Naoe can use stealth-focused abilities and tools such as her grappling hook, shuriken, smoke bombs, and Hidden Blade, while Yasuke uses weapons such as the katana and naginata. Players can switch between the two protagonists to approach different situations according to their abilities. The Switch 2 version supports TV, Tabletop, and Handheld modes.
