Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is an action RPG developed by Monolith Soft and published by Nintendo. The game follows Shulk and his companions as they become involved in a conflict between the people of Bionis and the mechanical Mechon. The Nintendo Switch version released on May 29, 2020.

Story

The story begins when Shulk discovers that he can wield the mysterious Monado, a powerful blade capable of showing glimpses of the future. After the Mechon attack his home, Shulk and his companions set out across the enormous Bionis to uncover the truth behind the Monado and the ongoing conflict between organic life and the Mechon. The Definitive Edition also includes the Future Connected epilogue.

Gameplay

Gameplay combines real-time combat, exploration, character progression, quests, equipment customization, and large open environments. Players can control a party of characters, position them strategically during battles, upgrade weapons and skills, and use the party gauge to perform powerful Chain Attacks. The game also features free exploration across the Bionis and Mechonis.
